PHASE I- AYURVEDA AND YOU

Creating an Ayurvedic lifestyle has countless benefits, many of which can be felt both immediately and long-term. The many techniques available to practice continue to be recognized and validated by research. 

 

To be truly healthy, we can't just take care of our physical body—we need to address the health of our mind, body, spirit, and environment so that we can experience a state of wholeness.

 In PHASE I, you will explore how living an Ayurvedic Lifestyle or including Ayurvedic principles in your current life, can help bring your health and well-being back into balance. You will learn how to personalize your approach to wellness by identifying your unique dosha and exploring the lifestyle choices that best support it.

Ayurveda focuses on the unique qualities of the individual—how we each respond to different foods, exercise programs, and other activities and experiences. The focus for cultivating wellness is grounded in 3 P's, Personalized, Practical, and Preventative. This course will teach you how to shift your everyday experiences along with your biology to obtain greater levels of health and well-being.

PHASE I includes:
  • An overview of Ayurveda

  • An exploration of the modern-day science and research that validates the influence of the Ayurvedic techniques we will practice.

  • The layers of life and how to identify and integrate them for optimal health.

  • The five elements and how they relate to your unique wellness

  • An introduction to doshas – your body type

  • Taking and interpreting the dosha quiz

  • Identifying when doshas are in or out of balance

  • Cultivating awareness

This introductory phase can be taken as stand-alone or as part of a year-long in-depth, personalized, transformative experience of Living Well through Ayurveda. Participating in the entire program is highly encouraged and recommended.

PHASE II- PERSONALIZED NOURISHMENT

Next to breathing, eating is one of our most vital functions for wellness. We nourish ourselves by converting the energy and information from our environment into the biological intelligence of our body.
 

Feeding ourselves well includes not only what we eat as food but also what we consume for our mind and spirit. To create a healthy physiology we need to consume nourishing things best suited for our dosha and a vibrant life.

In this phase, you will learn about the foundational Ayurvedic practices that support optimal eating and wellness. You will explore the relationship between taste and flavor and practice simple strategies for feeding yourself well, Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Phase II includes:
  • The key terms and concepts related to vital digestive function

  • How to enhance eating pleasure and digestive wellness with herbs and spices

  • The basics of your microbiome

  • An exploration of the six tastes and how they influence your health and well-being.

  • How to use the six tastes to balance your dosha

  • Phytonutrient density

  • Mindful eating

  • Cultivating awareness

PHASE III- TENDING YOUR SELF

Truly tending to our needs is a vital part of optimal well-being. More than simply ensuring we have the right nutrients of other basic necessities for health, tending involves deeply nourishing and nurturing our body, mind, and spirit.

 

Through accessing our inner pharmacy and engaging in simple but powerful daily routines, we can cultivate a lifestyle of optimal well-being. One that will enrich our experience and enjoyment of life.

In this phase, you will engage in an in-depth exploration of the healing power of your senses and sensory experiences. You will also learn about the rhythms of nature and how they relate to your specific dosha and cultivate an understanding of your own natural rhythms and how to ensure balance and ease.

Phase III will cover:
  • Healing through the Five Senses

  • The multiple rhythms of nature

  • Your dosha and your rhythms

  • Living in harmony with the seasons

  • Getting restful sleep

  • Daily routines for optimal well-being

  • Mindful Movement

  • Enhancing your Prana

  • Cultivating awareness

PHASE IV- EMOTIONAL FREEDOM

Emotional well-being is essential to our health and well-being.  Ayurveda recognizes that as a natural life force, our emotions need to flow freely through our bodymind as we assimilate their messages.

 

If you find yourself getting stuck in certain emotional patterns or tend to avoid emotions, you know that these experiences can sap your vitality and contribute to feelings of ill health or dis-ease.

 In this phase, you will learn how to release toxic patterns and residue that keep you feeling stuck and depleted, guiding yourself back to a pattern of wholeness, balance, and pure potential.

Phase IV includes:
  • Ayurveda’s perspective on emotional freedom

  • The nature of emotions

  • The seven biological responses

  • Practices and strategies for emotional clearing

  • Conscious communication

  • How to tend emotional pain

  • Emotions and your dosha

  • Cultivating awareness
